Mrs. Banford's Life
Frances Sheard was born in 1888. She died in 1968.
Her father was a minister at the Canton Methodist Church. She lived at 77 State Street when she was growing up.
She had 5 brothers and 2 sisters. All 8 children went to college.
She went to Potsdam Normal School, which is now State University College at Potsdam. Later, she took classes at St. Lawrence University.
She taught at Big Moose College in Ohio and in the grammar schools at Pierce's Corners, Colton, and Canton before becoming the principal at the Canton Grammar School in 1924.
She married Earl Banford in1925.
