The Grammar School
Mrs.Banford was principal of the Canton Grammar School
from 1924-1957.
It was a red brick building, which held grades K-8.
There was no art room, pool, or cafeteria.
There was a small narrow music room, like a deep closet. Libraries were in the classrooms.
Weekly assemblies were held in the auditorium.
The Canton Grammar School was located on Judson and Court Streets where the Harold B. Smith Building and parking lot are now.
