@ Your Library
"NEW BOOKS"
LIST FOR NOV 07 - APR 08 AT END OF NEXT WEBPAGE
MUDDY
DAY @ PRESCHOOL
STORYTIME
Storytime on Wednesday, April 30th, begins at 10:30 am. It’s
all about Mmmmmm! Mud! We'll
enjoy lots of wonderful books and learn some songs and fingerplays
about ooey, gooey, squishy, squashy mud! There will be
a flannel board story about little piggies rolling in the mud, and
at the craft tables, the children can recreate that scene by fingerpainting
a muddy pig picture! Roll up your sleeves and join us! All area
three to five year olds are invited to bring a caregiver to the
library’s weekly 45-minute storytime. No registration is needed,
and the program is open to preschoolers everywhere!
POET/MEMOIRIST
@ CFL
On Tuesday, April 29th, poet
and memoirist Michael Czarnecki, presents two programs. The first
is a “Bring Your Lunch” workshop
from noon to 2 pm featuring his memoir-writing method known as “Palm-of-the-Hand.”
He will guide participants in how to write about their lives, stories
for family members to enjoy or that might be published in a book.
The Friends will provide dessert and beverages.
That evening at 7 pm, Czarnecki entertains his audience with spontaneous
creative nonfiction storytelling that
draws on experiences from all stages of the writer’s life.
He has hitchhiked 30,000 miles, backpacked in the mountains, raised
a family, homesteaded and more. These programs are co-sponsored
by Poets & Writers, Inc. through public funds it has received
from the New York State Council on the Arts.
