JOIN THE FRIENDS OF THE CANTON FREE LIBRARY
The Friends of the Canton Free Library is a volunteer group committed to active support and enrichment of library services on behalf of everyone in the area. The Friends donate time, money, energy, and ideas to promote the library as an educational and informational resource and as a leisure-reading center. Call the library for more information or send your contribution to the Friends of the Canton Free Library. Join your friends and neighbors in helping to make our library a special place.

LIBRARY BEQUESTS
Please consider the Canton Free Library when you are making estate plans. Over time, the financial health of our library will be assured if our friends and patrons, whom we have served for over 100 years, remember the Canton Free Library when they are making decisions about gifts and bequests. Those who have preceded us valued libraries and have begun a legacy of support. It is our hope that, because you, too, value libraries, you will assist us in continuing this tradition.

ANNUAL PERIODICALS DRIVE

The annual Periodicals Drive is an opportunity for businesses, families and individuals to sponsor one of the library’s magazines or newspapers that may be related to their line of work or just a personal favorite. All sponsors’ names appear on specially created labels that are placed on every issue of “their” magazines. The contribution is tax deductible. Sponsorships allow us to offer one of the biggest and best magazine collections in the North Country. It is one of our most popular and heavily used collections in the Library. Call for more information or stop by to choose the magazine you would like to sponsor.

ADOPT-A-BOOK or Music CD or Video or DVD
CFL’s Adopt-A-Book (or DVD or music CD) program invites patrons to purchase an item for the library’s collection at the library’s discounted price (about 40% for books.) The purchaser then becomes the first person to read, listen to or view the new item before it's put out for others to enjoy. This program is a way to help the library shorten the waiting lists for those best sellers that everyone wants to read. All donations are tax deductible. Ask at the Front Desk to see the list of soon-to-be-published books that we will be buying throughout February and March. We invite all patrons, especially those who are among our most avid readers, to choose items from this list to adopt. Just ask a staff person at the Front Desk for an Adopt-A-Book form, fill out the one available on our website under Support Us or call Carole Berard with item requests. To find and mail a printable version of this form, please click here.

HONOR & MEMORIAL GIFTS
Honor someone special by giving a gift to the Canton Free Library. Gifts to the collection may be in the form of money, suggestions for materials, or actual items. Gift and memorial plates are then placed in/on the gift item, and letters of acknowledgement are sent to the donor, the person being honored or to a family member of the person being remembered. A memorial gift form is available at the checkout desk; donors may also call or write the Library for more gift-giving information. All gifts are tax deductible. Please click here for a printable version of the memorial gift form.
