The Jefferson-Lewis BOCES SLS serves fifty-one School Library Media Centers in seventeen member districts of the BOCES.

The mission of the School Library System of Jefferson Lewis BOCES is to support its member libraries and facilitate equitable access to information resources for the students and staff of the component districts of the BOCES.

Specific services include database development for member libraries; coordination of interlibrary loan; library consultations and advocacy; and staff development services. To access SLS services, patrons should contact their participating Library Media Center.

Databases

Health Wellness Resource Center; a NOVEL database articles on all aspects of medicine, including heath, fitness, diseases and conditions.	The Twayne Authors Series - Twayne World, English, and US Authors; a NOVEL database 600 individual full-text titles on authors.	TeachingBooks.net is a collection of K-12 multimedia author and book resources provided by the JL BOCES School Library System.  Includes projectable video clips of authors discussing their work, book readings, booklists, book guides & more.	New York State Newspapers; a NOVEL database database of ten major newspapers published in NYS including the New York Times and Post Standard.
EBSCO Primary Search; a NOVEL database full text for more than 60 popular, magazines for elementary school research.  Password required, obtain from local library or SLS.
National Newspaper Index; a NOVEL database quick access to the indexing of America's top five newspapers. Custom Newspapers; a NOVEL database collection of 150 newspapers, national and international Northern New York Historical Newspapers, provided via JL SLS membership in the Northern NY Library Network.	Business and Company Resource Center; a NOVEL database Search this database to find detailed company and industry news and information.	Wilson OmniFile Full Text Select database provided via JL SLS membership in the NNY Library Network.  Password needed for remote access, obtain from local library or SLS. educational videos or film clips for streaming or downloading.  See SLS staff for passwords.
