Jefferson-Lewis-Oswego Fall Roundtable Set For Watertown

WATERTOWN - While many people still have picnics and beaches on their minds, others are gearing up for the events of fall. Included in those activities is the Jefferson-Lewis-Oswego Counties Fall Regional Roundtable. This event is sponsored by the Northern New York Library Network, Potsdam.

The subject of the Jefferson-Lewis-Oswego Counties Roundtable is "Exhibits on a Shoestring Budget." It will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on September 8, 2007 at the Jefferson County Historical Society, 228 Washington St., Watertown.

About the Roundtable: Showcasing a museum’s or historical society’s collection in exhibitions allows the public to be introduced to an organization’s holdings, and allows the public to see what is being held "in trust" on their behalf. However, developing exhibits can be extremely costly. Few medium to small size museums and historical societies have significant funds in their budgets for developing exhibits. This program will discuss some of the ways organizations can develop exhibits while existing on a shoe-string-budget.

The speakers will be Lewis County Historical Society Executive Director Lisa Becker, Jefferson County Historical Society Director Tim Able, and Jefferson County Historical Society Curator Christine Lamendola.

Registrations for this Roundtable are to be made directly with Ms. Becker. A luncheon will be provided at a cost of $11.95 per person (catered by Savory). Checks should be made payable to LCHS by August 31, 2007 to: Lisa Becker, Lewis County Historical Society, P.O. Box 446, Lowville, NY 13367; or phone: 315-376-8957.
