LIBRARY PHILOSOPHY
Long Lake Central School has the responsibility to provide its students with educational experiences which contribute to the mastery of individual skills and enable lifelong learning. Our school is located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. We are a K-12 building with a total enrollment of 120 students. While our setting is picturesque and rural, our students are provided with many opportunities for learning about the "greater" world.
The High School Library's mission is to provide access to the resources which enable students to locate, evaluate, apply and synthesize information. We provide a supportive environment for students, faculty and staff utilizing varied resources including local collections, interlibrary loan, inhouse and online databases, and the Internet. We also provide for the curriculum-related and recreational reading needs of our users. Our Electronic Doorway Library status has enabled us to reach out far beyond our walls thus providing our students with the skills they will need in order to become lifelong learners.
