Ben's Guide:  Benjamin Franklin's Guide to the US Government for Kids
 
BLACK HISTORY: Offers a full rnage of activities and explores
       African-American issues on the Web.
Brendan Kehoe's Kids on the Web.: This list of sites offers information for 
       and about kids. Among other things, it includes a lot of stuff for them to 
       play with, information for adults, and info about schools and education. 
 	   
CHILDREN'S BOOKS: Children's Literature Web Guide.

Children's Television Workshop: Sesame Street in cyberspace, the oneline 
       home of the Cookie Monster and the other characters of the popular CTW 
       program.
The Exploratorium: The science museum in San Francisco mounts 
       electronic versions ot hands-on exhibits like the science of hockey, 
       tracking severe storms and how to dissect a cow's eye.

Figure this!: Math challenges for families.  Very cute site with everyday
       family math problems.

Flags of the World : A simple site with color images of flags from most 
       of the world's countries.

INTERNET PUBLIC LIBRARY: Includes an "Ask a Question" reference section. 

KNOTS ON THE WEB: Knot tying: this is a comprehensive collection
       of links to knot tying sites.

MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD:From the popular PBS children's 
       program, Mr. Rogers.  Activities, advice to parents, and a section on 
       children's books tied to specific program themes.  

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC: National Geographic on-line.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN INDIAN, SMITHSONIAN: 
       A Native American site from the Smithsonian Institute.  Many useful 
       links to other Native American sites on the Internet.

NICK: Nickelodeon's highly interactive site is engaging, fun for kids.  
       Features trivia games, animation, stories, advice column, and a 3-D 
       tour through the Nickelodeon studios.

ORIGAMI: Paper folding. Create art from paper with clear instructions and
       lots of models to choose from.
PUNKY DOODLES COLORING CLUB & FUNHOUSE:  Interactive games, puzzles,
       stories, clubhouse atmosphere, printable coloring pages, and more.  
       Devoted to wholesome fun and entertainment for children, ages 4-12.

SAVAGE EARTH: PBS brings you information on our everchanging planet, 
       including earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis.

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED FOR KIDS: 

TODAY IN HISTORY: From the Library of Congress, a day by day listing
       of historical events. 
VIRTUAL APPLE CORPS: Decorate vegetables by picking the eyes, ears, 
       nose, hat, etc. 
 
VOLCANO WORLD: Learn about volcanoes around the world while viewing
       awesome photos and movies.  Part of a NASA project.

WHELMERS: A science site with activities that aim to catch the mind 
       and eye.  

WHITEHOUSE FOR KIDS: Take a tour through the whitehouse.

YAHOOLIGANS!: The Web Guide for Kids.  Contains many different 
       categories and search tools, such as an Almanac.
 

WEB SAFETY
Disney OnLine Presents CyberNetiquette Comix: (Grades K-4) an entertaining, interactive way for families to learn valuable lessons about online safety. Internet Safety Game : (Grades K-4) Cyberangels: (Grades 5-8) Cyberangel.com presents a page on Internet Safety. Has a 12 question interactvie quiz on e-mail and chat with explanations for both correct and incorrect answers.
