Welcome to the Phoenix Public Library

In existence since 1921, the Phoenix Public Library provides materials and services to people of all ages.

As a member of the North Country Library System , the library can:

  • Provide interlibrary loan services

  • Participate in workshops and other professional activities

  • Receive various types of assistance--technical, computers, printing and advisory services.

The library is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees.  The day-to-day operations are carried out by a library director and 3 part -time library clerks.

Funding for the library comes from village, town, county and state sources, as well as the school district, private donations and fund-raisers.

The library has two supporting organizations--The Century Club and The Friends of the Library.

The Century Club raises funds for the library, decorates during some of the holidays and supports the library in other ways as the need arises.

The Friends of the Library primarily works to help plan and promote library programs that would be of benefit to the community and work to help keep the library in the public eye.

The Phoenix Central School District assists the library with computer equipment and technical support.

The Golf Classic Committee holds a fund-raiser golf tournament annually in August.
